Christmas 2022

Merry Christmas.

It’s been a relaxing day, due to my food all being planned.

This year, the meat is a stuffed turkey leg joint from Riverford’s. I’ve had it before, and it is reliable.

Although I have potatoes and veg in the fridge, I knew I had some frozen prepared roasties in the freezer, done in goose fat. I also found a small tray of my own roasted sprouts, from 2021!

So the morning started off with a small breakfast. I realised I was out of sausages, so I borrowed some pigs in blankets from my lunch menu.

Then just about 1pm, I got the turkey going, and after a while the potatoes and sprouts joins it, and then finally the pigs in blankets. For anyone doubting you van cook a Christmas Dinner in a Ninja Foodi, this picture is for you.

When it was ready, I put a couple of frozen Yorkshire in the Foodi, while I carved and dished up, and microwaved a frozen portion of mixed veg.

Not too shabby:

There is enough meat for another couple of meals, and the fridge is also stuffed with other cold meats, veg, smoked salmon, cream cheese, several different hard cheeses and lots of other stuff. So I am not going to starve!
